How to Make Molds Videos
Your choice of
mold material is based primarily upon which casting material you plan to use and how many castings you wish to produce. Polyurethane mold rubbers are excellent for casting concrete, plaster, wax and limited resins and are very economical. Silicone mold rubbers are the best choice for reproducing numerous resin castings (polyurethane, polyester, epoxy) and polyurethane foam parts. Silicones are more expensive, but have greater chemical resistance and longer mold life when resin casting. Latex mold rubbers are used primarily to create molds for casting decorative concrete statuary and are generally less popular due to the length of time required to make the mold. Polyurethane and silicone rubbers are most popular as molds can be completed within a day.
We offer a variety of
castable liquid polyurethane rubbers for creating cast flexible rubber parts for prototype or functional parts as well as for art objects, display pieces and more. Poly PT Series are designed as low viscosity, fast setting, rapid demold rubbers for model making and prototyping applications. Poly Plasti-Flex can be cast to make flexible parts for props, displays as well as for flexible architectural millwork and moldings (mouldings). Poly GlassRub is a clear liquid polyurethane liquid rubber that finds use as both a mold rubber and casting rubber since it can make stunning flexible parts and art objects which are clear, colored or filled with dry fillers. Your imagination is the only limiting factor!
